PAN TRINBAGO - WSMF 2005

Participants - World Festival,  New York 2005

The Festival will feature eight (8) steelbands of fifty players each from Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom, a total of 400 performers from throughout the world. These musicians would participate in a competitive festival setting performing a test piece ("Pan in A Minor" composed by Aldwyn "Lord Kitchener" Roberts) and a tune of choice which in many instances is taken from the classical genre. The finalists carded to perform at the festival reflect the global nature of the event: -

  • From North America come CASYM of New York and Pan Masters of Canada

  • New Dimension Steel Orchestra will represent the Caribbean.

  • United Kingdom's Sounds of Steel will perform.

  • On stage with these international bands will be the best of Trinidad & Tobago - Sagicor Exodus, Trinidad & Tobago Defence Force Steel Orchestra, TCL Group Skiffle Bunch, & Courts Sound Specialists of Laventille.
